MTBS has a presentation designed to provide viewers with a greater understanding of the MTBS program and the available geospatial data for characterizing fire effects. The presentation provides an overview of the program, fire mapping and assessment protocols, available data products, and how to obtain data and utilize the project website. There is also a brief introduction to an accompanying GIS exercise that shows how to integrate and analyze MTBS data with local GIS map layers and how this information can support management decisions. The exercise provides sample data and instruction documentation that allows the user to work with MTBS data within their own GIS software. The exercise was written with instructions in ArcGIS Pro, however it may be useful for those using other software platforms as well.
